I know a lot of you ladies love checklists right?  I’m all about a good checklist myself – the more checked the better right?  But, I recently read a great book – The Checklist Life – Breaking Free from a Life of Obligations – and it made me stop to think about how much of my life has been planned from that mentality.  Meaning, the idea that x-y-z needs to be accomplished in order to “do it right” – or – I have to do all of these things because … that’s what I’m “supposed” to do.  But here is the thing  – showing up, doing your life, the way you WANT to – IS doing it right, and today I want to talk more about that.  Listen in as I discuss this book with the Tracy Bianco, Leadership Coach, and author of The Checklist Life.

Hello hello hello – welcome back to the podcast everyone.

OK – I know a lot of you ladies love checklists right?

I’m all about a good checklist myself – the more checked the better right?

But I recently read a great book – The Checklist Life – Breaking Free from a Life of Obligations 

and it made me stop to think about 

How much of my life has been planned from that mentality 

Like the idea that x-y-z needs to be accomplished in order to “do it right”

Or – I have to do all of these things because 

that’s what Im supposed to do

But here is the thing you all

Showing up, doing your life, the way you WANT to

IS doing it right

And I want to talk more about that 

Not what society thinks we need to do

So today 

I am so excited to share with you a conversation I had last weekend with Tracy Bianco

I met Tracy in a Mastermind I’m currently in and 

She helped me with my DISC assessment 

– if you are not familiar it’s basically a 

Behavior assessment 

Really gives you and idea of where some of your strengths are 

And areas of improvement 

It’s great when you are working in teams 

Tracy is a leadership coach and the author of the book – The Checklist Life 

We talked about our experiences with this idea of having to plan everything 

How our lives haven’t gone as we thought 

And 

how that can be amazing 

She also shares some suggestions she uses with clients so 

I encourage you to try them out 

I really think more and more of us need to embrace

Doing life our way

And being totally down with it

So take a listen in

Here is my biggest take-a-way

So many of us have this idea of what our lives “should” look like

And what we “should” do 

And often times 

Instead of embracing what is 

We keep fighting for what is not 

Or we keep running around thinking 

If we don’t do all of these other things 

We won’t matter as much 

Not true 

What if 

You just took a pause

And asked yourself 

What do you want?

That’s a tough question for a lot of you

Running around 

Doing it all

But not truly knowing 

How to do you 

You know what I’m saying right?

So just wonder.. 

Wonder what it would be like 

If you truly could do more of what you want

And not be so stressed and overwhelmed 

It’s possible 

That it could actually 

be fun!
